My Teaching Philosophy
Music in general is a very important part of our lives even though we often do not realize this. It is the form of art which anyone can perceive, even without knowing the craft of music making, which is life changing for the one who learns it.

Researchers say that the entire process of music making helps development of a child’s brain, positively influencing one's IQ by elevating it by an average of seven points. Science of human health and longevity says that professionals, who have the longest lifespan, are musicians.

Another benefit of the craft of music making is in its ability to enrich emotionally and bring peace by letting musicians have their niche to escape to during difficult times.

Teaching Approach
My students from preschoolers to adults, who are often busy parents, many of whom have achieved their best in taking graded exams with ABRSM board from initial grade to grade six, have reported that they built up strong emotional attachment to the process of music making. I can guarantee that while students build up their necessary technical skills in a supportive and safe environment, where I am responsible for executing well planned and structured lessons, whereas having support and positive reinforcements from their parents while practicing at home, they will certainly gain essential for any musician qualities - resilience and lifelong love to music. And this is what I heard back from my students and their parents after they left my class, moving forward to new life achievements. Some of them took it to professional level - taking their Major in Music at the universities.

Whether you are going to take lessons for personal enjoyment or as a preparation for a career as a musician, your lessons will be personally tailored and carefully planned in order to achieve steady progress and secure the best possible results. I am welcoming opportunities to encourage my students to take part in community festivals and studio recitals.

Two recitals are going to be conducted for the duration of the school’s year, one early in December, and the other one in June before the summer break.

I recommend all students to attend the recital in order to see their peers achievements and progress. Every musical event is enriching for musicians, regardless if they are participating actively or not.

Why Piano
Leonard Bernstein, composer, pianist, humanitarian and music educator said - "Life without music is unthinkable. Music without life is academic. That is why my contact with music is a total embrace"
If you chose to learn piano over another instrument - you are lucky, because it is always ready for you - no need for frequent tunings and other services. At the same time piano is an absolutely self-sufficient instrument - you do not need to join a band to enjoy your craft. And here we come to an important step which is learning to play your instrument properly. Because how we play affects how listeners hear it.

That is why my goal as a teacher is to provide my students with ways and means of overcoming technical limitations with my primary intention to arm them with a strong foundation of techniques and skills. Nevertheless this is not the final destination, because the real aim of musicians is even more ambitious - it is to evoke various emotions in the audience via their carefully prepared performance, because this is what we are all looking for in music. And only both of these ways of building up musicianship can effectively help in achieving the best possible result.

I'm an adult beginner, and Sviatlana also teaches my 10 year old son, so I'm able to see firsthand how she expertly adapts her teaching to suit the different needs of her students. Her teaching style is calm, kind and non-judgemental, which has instilled real confidence in both of us. Sviatlana's love and enthusiasm for music extends way beyond our weekly lessons, and she provides all of her students with resources to further their knowledge and understanding of music. She also organises recitals twice a year at a local concert hall, and encourages all of her students to perform in them. It's remarkable to see how confident her students are when performing, enabled by the safe and friendly atmosphere that Sviatlana creates.

I feel incredibly privileged that my son and I have met Sviatlana, and are able to benefit from her extensive expertise and experience.

Sviatlana’s gentle yet focused approach has been instrumental in Sophie’s growth as a pianist and as a person. Her encouragement and belief in Sophie helped her achieve Distinctions in both exams this year. The bond they share, especially their mutual love for all things music and Radiohead, made learning both meaningful and joyful.

As a parent deeply involved in my child’s musical journey, I truly appreciated how openly and earnestly she communicated with me to help Sophie stay focused and motivated.. We are deeply grateful for her dedication, belief, and the inspiration she has given Sophie.

I highly recommend Sviatlana as a piano teacher. She's been an amazing teacher for our son, helping him begin his journey in music. Sviatlana is patient, has a deep understanding of the ABRSM program, and her beautiful playing truly inspires her students. Beyond her skills as a teacher, Sviatlana is a beautiful artist, and we are continuously impressed by her talent. Thanks to her guidance, our son excelled in his Grade 1 and 2 exams, achieving distinctions in both within just a year. Her performances aren't just technically impressive; they also motivate her students to strive for excellence. Sviatlana has a special way of making challenging lessons engaging and accessible. We are very grateful for the positive influence she has had on our son's musical education.

Our 9-year-old son has been learning piano with Mrs Sviatlana for the past two years, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, she created a warm, encouraging environment that made our son feel excited and confident about learning music.

Mrs Sviatlana’s teaching style is perfectly suited for children. She is patient, engaging, and full of creative techniques that make each lesson fun and productive. Under her guidance, our son has not only developed strong foundational skills but also a genuine love for playing piano.

He has proudly participated in two piano recitals, which were beautifully organized and gave him a real sense of accomplishment. Thanks to Mrs Sviatlana’s support and dedication, he has also achieved Merit in both Initial and Grade 1 Piano exams through Trinity College London, a testament to the quality of instruction and the motivation she instills.

If you’re looking for a piano teacher who brings out the best in young learners and nurtures both skill and confidence, Mrs Sviatlana is truly exceptional.
  • From Pamela A.
My child’s confidence has improved immeasurably since starting piano lessons with Sviatlana. Her warmth, patience, and encouragement have created a space where learning feels both joyful and inspiring.

Sviatlana’s attention to technical detail is exceptional from careful hand placement to precise posture and movement, every aspect is guided with care and expertise. Yet what truly sets her apart is the way she nurtures musicality, helping my child understand how to express emotion and character through music, not just playing the notes.

This balanced focus on both technique and artistry has made an extraordinary difference. Not only has my child achieved Grade 1, but the confidence gained through these lessons has also spilled into other parts of her life, giving her a sense of self-assurance and joy that extends far beyond the piano.

I couldn’t recommend Sviatlana highly enough as she teaches not only music, but also confidence, creativity, and heart.
  • From Shama
Sviatlana has taught both my daughter and son. She has a gentle, calming way to handle kids which makes her an amazing teacher. With my daughter who had a knack for music, Sviatlana managed to tailor the lessons on an accelerated path. While for my son, she tuned the teaching style to create a spark in him, who was at the time not too keen on learning piano. In a lovely way, Sviatlana has made both my children flourish in music and I would always recommend her.
